The BFF's 42nd

The BFF is coping fine, surprisingly. She isn't going to wilt from boredom. Work occupies her loads — her entire office building can be demolished and they can all still work remotely and off-site. The issue here is — she's a total extrovert. She can entertain herself at home, but she's a social butterfly. The abrupt stop to regular drinking sessions means that her liver is in mint condition. She could always turn into a raving alcoholic this month, but drinking at home isn't a thing for either of us.

Without her F45 and spin classes, she has taken to actual cycling and working out to LES MILLS on Demand. Now that our freelance housekeepers can't even come in, we're on our own at home. We take to house-cleaning chores with new enthusiasm, because, that's a work-out. Squats and arm-work galore. The BFF took to cleaning her home super thoroughly. Hahaha. Sweat fest.

I wasn't going to let the BFF's birthday pass so quietly. Thankful that our retailers and many restaurants are still in business, still efficient, and not charging exorbitant rates for delivery. Everybody's home now (duhhh), so at least the delivery timings could be more flexible, and there's no fear of sending people edibles. Teheheheh. Flooded the BFF with deliveries. Boxes of birthday tarts, loaves of bread, chicken curry, ngoh hiang, and beef rendang from Daisy's Dream Kitchen, and even a birthday plant + a balloon were delivered. I got food items from Daisy's for myself too. The whole point was so that the BFF and I could have dinner 'together'! Wheeeeee. All that rempah on rice was so tasty. She had forgotten how good that sambal belachan is. Later on, she was still hungry and even had a bowl of bakwan kepiting as a midnight snack. Heh!

Happy 42nd, BFF. It's a quiet one this round. They didn't tell us that 2020 has been canceled. We deal with it, like we always do. Guzzle sugar and calories. You're entitled to do so during your birthday week. Utilize your fridge + freezer and kitchen stove like you've never done before. Stay healthy, love. We'll celebrate our 43rd together next year with a proper giant hug.
