Earlybirds at Earlybird

After a super early sunrise jog in the area with the dogs, we adjourned to Earlybird for refueling. K and B came to join us too since it was right after their paddling session at Kallang River. That was only 8.45am. Why was everyone so chirpy at this hour! Even the servers. Wow. The cafe opens at 8am, and while there were breakfast people at this time, it wasn't crowded. It totally filled up when we left 1.5 hours later.

Breakfast isn't quite a thing with me since I really can't eat much in the mornings. The stomach doesn't wake up till 11am or so. Even after a jog, I still couldn't eat. As much as I would like to stuff all the tater tots (topped with Sriracha mayonnaise, chopped bacon and grated parmesan) into my tummy, I couldn't. What I could fit in, were coffee and a berry smoothie.

The friends ordered a ton of drinks and two big breakfast plates to share — a King's Brekkie with sausages, thick cut bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, more tater tots and the sort, and a miso salmon and avocado with quinoa edamame salad. The man declared that he was hungry and wanted a plate to himself. He went big on chicken and pancakes — it came as a big piece of fried chicken perched atop buttermilk pancakes drizzled with chilli maple syrup. Luckily there was a table of six to nibble it all up in this meal. Heh.
