Miraku didn't open daily for takeouts. They offered takeout on random days; gotta check in with their facebook page for dates, and put in a pre-order. On a weekend when we felt like it and there was stomach space, we got a bara-chirashi and sushi, and a small sashimi platter.
There’re no restrictions to eating at the parks and beaches, yet. So after we picked up the food at 6pm, we bought two cans of beer, hopped out to a nearby park, found a free table and sat down. Inside the dinner bag, all the raw fish was neatly packed into three boxes. Wasabi and shoyu was included. We only needed chopsticks to enjoy our meal.
The man's sushi held eight types of sushi and one negitoro maki. The restaurants specified that it included toro and uni. My bara-chirashi set included toro and ikura. I requested for to replace the toro with say, negitoro. Hahaha. The sashimi had kinmedai too. Very nice. Miraku gave some thought to what types of fish they could cure and could last for the duration of the journey from kitchen counter to the diner's table.
We had intentionally wanted to have dinner immediately after picking it up. Luckily the weather cooperated and didn’t rain. It was cloudy all day, and it was still cloudy come 5.45pm. The cloud cover and slight breeze made it a cool evening. It was lovely having dinner while there was still light. (So that we could check for flies and ants in our food! Haha.) The dog was the happiest. She could join us at dinner, and still roll around in fairly clean grass and chill out alongside without ants swarming her.
