V Turns 40!

Happily popped over to V's for lunch last week. Opted for Arcade Fish Soup over a sushi platter. Sushi wouldn't travel that well unless we pick it up from the restaurant and zip back to the dining table immediately and we eat it within 30 minutes. Supermarket sushi might do better at lunch! Never mind, fish soup works beautifully. Also, Arcade Fish Soup's S$4 islandwide delivery charges are quite unbeatable. 

I have been doing a takeout of fish soup from Berseh Food Center (the Mei Xiang Black and White Fish Soup), and Arcade's version totally fell off my radar. While both are conveniently located for a pick-up, Berseh Food Center offers a variety of other foods, and its proximity to Little India meant the man could have his thosai and chapati. Hahaha. I was so happy to have Arcade's version today. I've missed this fish soup! I was greedy and ordered a large bowl of soup. It filled me up super nicely. Then I shamelessly drank her coffee and sprawled on her comfy couch. Tehehehehe.

No this wasn't V's birthday meal. I'm not so horrid! She bought this lovely lunch actually. Hurhurhur. It was a work day after all, so it was nice to have a break in the middle of the day and zone out with good company. I need to lunch or have dinner with her soon. Let's see what the government announcements will bring at the end of this week. I'm hopeful that restaurants will open in mid-June for us. Otherwise, we'll have to wait a little, and we'll get to a restaurant. Meanwhile, a bouquet of flowers and some fun balloons conveyed my wishes. 

Happy healthy 40th, V! And a blessed 1st Wedding Anniversary to you and R! These are strange times and odd years. The pandemic owes you a number of trips and smooth flights. We're still making each day count. A new decade will see you be equally unflappable and even more cool. 🥂🤍💜
