Didn't even think of going to Miraku till V texted me about their 5th Anniversary celebration menu for Saturday lunches at S$88+++ in November. Time with V is always welcomed, but little did I know that a busy week meant that this sushi lunch date with her was the only unhurried lunch I would have that week with sitting down with a human I actually care about.
Ahhhh. Lovely clean flavors of familiar cuts of fish with very little rice. Chef Hei wisely gave us only 8g of rice with each piece of sushi. Wheeeeee. And as usual, no tuna except for the negitoro handroll. The seaweed and tasty rice always cover up the taste of tuna which I heartily dislike.
A 720ml very chilled bottle of sake accompanied lunch and our conversation. V and I text each other, but sometimes more ground can be covered in a face-to-face. Hehhh. I had a bit too much to drink the night before, so I didn't want to take the bulk of the sake. V could, so she happily continued.
The restaurant has to close, so we left at 3.15pm. I was so full that I rolled out of the building in a daze. Went back home ostensibly for coffee and chats. Random chatting we did, but I forgot about the coffee. We ended up sipping more whisky. I was so so so so sleepy (full stomach + sake + maybe still hungover lol) that I actually slinked to bed and nodded off for 20 minutes!
