It has been a while since I stepped into In Piazza for a meal. It's now located next to Grub at Stevens Road. I've never stopped by because I always gravitate towards Grub. Tonight, N and I somehow had no plans and we made a last minute dinner-thing and went to In Piazza.
Tonight, We began with Caesar's salad with shrimps, sauteed mussels and clams, two pastas of orecchiette della Zia and a pappardelle with spicy crab meat. The husbands were super happy about quaffing down loads of pizza. Hahaha. They managed to finish a Bufalina and a Casanova with minced pork on a white base. Everyone opted to skip dessert.
Chef Carlo Marengoni still do a decent menu and dependable pasta, as expected of an Italian restaurant at any hotel. He now partners Chef Dario Bonaccorso at this restaurant, and the latter takes charge of the pizza oven (previously of Dario pizza previously at Clementi Road). I can never complain about Italian food at a decent-enough restaurant. (Except Rubato at Greenwood which sucks majorly.) It's either boring or dependable. Both adjectives are positive for no-brainer meals, especially when no one has any cravings, but we're hungry and don't want to eat crap cafe food.
After a super filling dinner, we adjourned to N and B's for a nightcap, more good conversation, and for the floofs to play and say good night properly. Hurhurhur.
