We had little Ozi and her humans over for dinner. E really likes her hard cheeses. We all like our food. So the evening saw a nice little cheese platter and dinner delivered in by Daisy's Dream Kitchen accompanied by loads of gin and whisky.
Ozi was soooo cute running around checking out all the smells. She's only 2.5kg! So tiny! Luckily Choya was a good girl and didn't pounce on the little one or bother her. To my surprise, Choya initiated play with Ozi. Wow! I rarely see that. She didn't tease the small girl and instead have her loads of space. E and M were a tad worried because Ozi might want to poop and pee but wouldn't know where to do it. Hurhurhur. The clever little girl chose the floor — super easy to clean up.
Nobody had complaints about dinner — Daisy's food is always dependable, along with its sambal belachan. Nobody wanted to over-eat, so we ordered small portions and nothing over the top. We literally each had one chicken wing (turmeric marinated) allocated. Instead of four pieces of otah, I only ordered one. Food was sufficient with just the minimal bits of leftovers to pack away for one small lunch the next day.
I had wanted to order a cheese platter from some cheese shop. Then I realized I didn't have many choices about the cheeses. At $200 for a plated platter? You know what? I'll fix my own platter. I always have fruits and berries and nuts at home. I'd just buy the sweeter and fatter cherry tomatoes. The parma ham and chorizo are easy to procure. Crackers and honey completed the sides to the cheese. I will always switch up the sides depending on what cheese I get, or what flavors our guests prefer.
Now, the cheeses. I toddled down to The Cheese Ark to see what they had for the weekend. There were a four lovely hard cheeses — Remeker Purr extra aged 18mths+, a Schlossberger Extra Alt caved aged 24mths+ from Switzerland, Farmstead goat cheese from North Holland, and a very delicious Malga Affinato Fieno from Italy. ALL THEM CHEESES WERE SUPER NOMS.
