Rainy days are lovely for gathering around a hotpot. When Queen of Wok serves up good food and it is also a convenient location for everyone, on a random evening after all our work obligations, we did an impromptu dinner at 8.15pm. The best part honestly, is being able to tot the floofs along to a zi char restaurant that serves up super decent food.
The canvas awning outdoors held and covered most of the tables from getting soaked. Bits of the floor were wet, but this angle somehow doesn't face the oncoming winds or rain, so water didn't pool in. Choya could still sit on the floor and remain dry. There wasn't any issue for Ozi since she happily sits in a bag when we take her out, and that bag will sit on the chair. Tonight, she was happy and wanted to share all of our food.
Got our usual mini (good for 3pax, really) pomfret hotpot. Added on stir-fried spinach, sambal sotong, tofu, and fried pork belly. Very noms for us. No alcohol necessary at all. We do need a few alcohol-free nights in a week. Tonight was one. We each had a glass of super satisfying and refreshing lemon-honey.
