Laksa After Gym Class!

Stopped by Hathaway for lunch. While the a la carte lunch menu still works, along with three-course set lunches (along with a vegetarian set too), they offer one-dish items and they all are pretty decent. The portions aren't too big and are very manageable, even for hungry people tanking up on protein after gym classes. The casual vibes and awesome air-conditioning meant that it made for a comfortable hour during mid-day.

In this rather varied 'Easygoing Lunch' menu, there's chicken rice, of course, which is always a winner. You could do beef too, as an Angus flat iron steak and thick-cut skin-on chips. Their fish and chips uses Hokkaido gindara black cod. I like Hathaway's nasi ulam and snapper set. The fish is done in sambal kicap and assam sambal — super tangy.

Today, I took the signature laksa that comes with shredded fish, tiger prawns, tofu puffs and topped with dried sole fish and daun kesum. Not too bad, although the sambal isn't spicy. But it made for a great lunch. I was hungry but didn't want to eat so much. So this bowl was just right for me.

The table went for broke and had sparkling whites and beers. Hahahaha. That settled carbs they wanted I suppose. They also wanted dessert and shared a portion of kueh kosui and kueh salat. It's hilarious because the kueh kosui comes as two pieces, but four people could share it as a bite each, which was perfect.
