The 'Original' Jiao-zi

Had a bit of errands to run, and by the dinner rolled around, it was 9pm. I had a craving for dumplings or jiaozi (餃子). So we took the dog and went to Dumpling Darlings on Amoy Street. At this timing, there was plenty of street parking, and there restaurant's had a high table outdoors that had cleared out, and we swooped in. Yay.

The menu offers a range of dumplings from Sichuan style to momo and pierogi, and even vegetarian mandu. I skipped all of those which aren't to my tastebuds and opted for the boring 'Original Dumplings'. These are just done with minced pork, ginger and soy. No weird gochujang or Sichuan pepper.

The husband wanted noodles, so he had the XO prawn noodles, which were super satisfying. Easy beers accompanied the food. And a non-offensive glass of osmanthus gin and tonic. I don't bother with the cocktails here. I didn't feel like noodles tonight, otherwise I usually choose the braised pork or miso mushroom. I just wanted to eat jiao-zi. 10 dumplings made a super satisfying dinner. Wheeeeeeee.
