Tacos de Lengua

I'm not particularly fond of Mexican food or in its Tex-Mex or Korean-Mexican styles. It was by convenience and no other choices that I had lunch at Huevos at New Bahru. I also wasn't very hungry, so I didn't mind it that much.

I'm not fond of tacos or quesadillas or fajitas (although that's not too bad), or the assorted spices. But the easiest kind of lunch here is simply tacos. So we ordered guac and chips, and six pieces of tacos of beef tongue and baja fish. Two pieces for me, and four pieces for the man. I like the guac, and he could have all the tortilla chips.

I didn't mind the tacos de lengua though. I like beef tongue. Huevos does this really well. I liked the salsa verde, onions, peppers and topping of pickled habanero. This set of tacos was spicy! I enjoyed it very much. We also had the tacos des pescado. I don't know if they use mahi-mahi or a snapper of sorts, but the white fish used was pretty decent. The chipotle aioli with mango salsa over the baja fish was a tad sweet for me. I really don't like my food slathered with sauce like that.

The man didn't mind a refreshing light bottle of Corona at lunch. I wisely avoided all alcohol and opted for a watermelon-mint juice. Heh. Then the staff chopping up watermelons offered me a nice slice. Yayyyy! That's the thing about Huevos. The service is generally pretty friendly.
