Porchetta & Lobster Linguine!

Made an impromptu dinner date with E and M. Went to D.O.P for a casual dinner with the floofs. The restaurant was relatively empty this festive season. The roads are empty too. Most people are traveling. We had the space to ourselves. Wheeeee.

Shared everything. We had starters of parma ham and mortadella with grilled vegetables and a giant blob of burrata. No pizza and nothing else. Otherwise we would be too full. They offered a festive porchetta, and we took it. It came with lentils and roasted potatoes.

There was lobster linguine too. Yayyyy! I love that. They trot it out once in a while. It's a small lobster this time — 600g instead of 800g, so the price was adjusted accordingly too. Had the ravioli of veal and cheese. We were totally surprised by the complimentary dish of rigatoni with pecorino cheese and peas. I like the cheese fine, but not the peas. That was precisely why we didn't order it in the first place. Hahaha. It was nice but we couldn't finish it, so we packed it home.

We went easy on the alcohol. Prosecco to start, and a bottle of red wine for the table. And that was it. We didn't even finish the bottle. We were absolutely prudent. It's not difficult to control our intake of food and alcohol. Festive feasting doesn't mean that we need to over-do it.
