Had a feast at Etna (Siglap branch) for M's birthday. This outlet's sheltered al fresco seating makes sense for our floofs who merrily came along. But its overhead fans are no match for our brutal humidity. Bring extra fans please.
Tonight, we went for a 1.2kg Bistecca alla Fiorentina, as well as a cute pork tenderloin. Supplemented with starters of burrata and parma ham, clams and mussels in white wine broth, and calamari that was done in the loveliest form of grilled squid on chickpea puree,
There're not many carb eaters at the table. Or rather they just don't bother eating carbs at night. Nobody wanted pizza at the table. It was more of a choice of pasta over pizzas. The birthday girl wanted the linguine with jumbo crab meat in crab bisque; she got that. We added a standard cacio e pepe for E, and then there was random paccheri with mushrooms and squid.
We honestly didn't over-order. I thought it quite prudent since we managed to finish everything. Hahahahah. There were two bottles of wine, an easy white and a champagne. I didn't think we finished all of it... but apparently we did. Okaaaay lor.
These people would eat dessert, but they're mindful. So it's not possible to order even two or three desserts to share among us. One would do nicely. LOL Had to make it to one dessert and one scoop of ice-cream so that we could get a candle on it and be all festive. Hehh. Opted for an easy tiramisu, and the birthday girl's request of pistachio ice-cream. Everyone was stuffed and happy.
