Conferences Abound

It was a short work week, but super intense. This is turning out to be a year of conference panels at work. Almost fun, save for the work part. Tehehehee. That kills brain cells. But it feels awesome to be working the brains and keeping the edges sharp. I don't get to meet many friends or sane acquaintances now, so it's a welcomed thing to meet some of them at these work events.

I need easy shoes for these full-day things. It's not fun having the feet bound up in tight shoes all day. Some women can do it; I'm not one of those. I don't own heels much anymore. Unless they're in the form of loafers. I need to cover distance, and that can't have me tottering in pain within an hour of arriving at the conference venue.

I have no idea how this year's work projects blew up into busy work weeks spanning months. Aside from my usual projects, I have continuous conferences to attend (and work at) on the calendar. Q2 is mad; Q3 seems to be chaotic too. I sure ain't complaining. It will pay my next year's bills very nicely.

Back-to-back conferences mean that I needed to decompress. That meant spending time alone in silence. That included not talking to the husband, and not even eating meals with him; he's used to it by now. Hurhurhur Of course the dog doesn't mind. Dog feels my vibes more than needing to hear my voice.
