The friends gathered us to dinner at theirs, and picked up food from Boon Tong Kee at Balestier. It had to be at this branch because they wanted the claypot rice. I never knew that Boon Tong Kee offer claypot rice at dinner at this outlet! Takeout orders are ready only from 6pm onwards, so we couldn't pick it up earlier.
Of course we didn't get the claypot rice in a claypot. But the plastic tub didn't dent any flavors. They even dug out the crisp bits to pack it into this portion. It was seriously tasty. Claypot rice like this has to be shared. There's no way we could inhale it between two people at one sitting.
There were other dishes of tofu, prawn beancurd, marmite ribs (better eat them all now before marmite is replaced with something else), spinach and eggs, and such. The table of food was predictable and comforting. I hadn't eaten this much rice in a while! What a happy meal. We're thankful for the friends' ever-generosity in having people sit around their dining table.
The baby ate earlier and obediently went to bed. The bigger kiddo didn't want his dinner; he wanted to get onto the floor to roll around with Choya. The Smol Girl wanted cheese, and for cheese, she deigned to suffer the kiddo's hugs. Maddie strolled around to inspect everyone. Hahahah. We kept an eye on all of them. Everyone co-existed peacefully.
