Thai Cuisine

After a long day in the sun and surf, all we wanted was a quiet evening evening. It's Phuket after all, we could go to most places in slippers or just sneakers. Hung out at Baan Rim Pa for dinner.

Nothing settles one in a mellow mood faster than subdued lighting, rhythmic thud of gently crashing surf, alcohol and good food. Live music. Easy listening generic jazz pieces that one hears at most restaurants and hotel lobbies.

The food is good. Light on oil and in spite of it being located in a superbly touristy outcrop, the food's surprisingly authentic. Except for the clear tom yam soup. It didn't pack a punch as expected. tom yam soup (clear) which has been very lightly spiced; altered to suit western palate.
