The boys raved about the whisky at the tasting session last week. My eyebrows were raised when I heard that they also bought several bottles of single malt.
These boys aren't exactly whisky drinkers right from the start. The young punks were weaned on beer and vodka. Along the way, somehow they switched to blended whisky. Then suddenly, they go into this delicious frenzy on single malts. Wah. This looks set to last!
Yes, I must commend them for their choice of single malt last night. I am extremely impressed with their pick. The Tullibardine Vintage 1988 is totally beautiful to taste. Very malty with a touch of honey. On a round ball of ice. Ooh la la. A very sophisticated single malt. I like.

well, maybe time to drop the vodka altogether. after single malts, can NEVER go back to blended. if must drink might as well be the classy poisons :)
this bar is confirm, chop + guarantee a damn good whisky bar.
that round ball of ice says it all!
sinlady: i don't think they'll drop vodka lah. it's altogether a different grain and taste. so i guess it's what catches their fancy at the moment!
clamshell: you said it!
slurp!
kuroshironeko: hoots! :D
I remembered going for a single malt whiskey tasting session a few years ago at Ritz Carlton. The taste was exquisite and different as you say, although the high alcohol content probably makes it more of a sip than a swallow. Of course the costs can be prohibitive, especially if you imbibe vintage Macallans!
coolinsider: tell me about the costs! although we've moved away from macallan to try other boutique labels, the prices don't go down!!! :( sips are nice!! better than just mad drinking.
