Aiyoh. Sure Stink One

The office holds weekly after-work session of pilates. Ugly green foam mats are also provided for those who don't bring their own.

Those mats are folded and neatly stacked immediately after every session. I wonder how the perspiration escapes. When the mats eventually dry out, I'm sure there's this faint odour lingering.

For the last 3 weeks, I've seen the mats being put out at the area where the cargo lift is. The entire trolley of mats is just left there till next week's session.

The problem is, I've also seen garbage being dumped next to the trolley. Dirty cups, leftover food and watnots are piled high, leaning next to the mats.

The cleaner would leave her cleaning trolley next these mats. When she needs the mop, she would swing them around and dirty water of dubious origins would splatter onto these mats.

Out of morbid curiosity, I have lurked around at different times of various lengths just to see if anyone would clean these mats. Or at least sun them.

But no one did. The trolley and its green load stay there quietly.

Finally, I couldn't contain that burning curiosity. I went to ask the cleaners what would they usually do with the trolley of mats; if they air it or something.

"No lah. Where got time. People use every week. We just put there lor." - I was told.

EIOOOOWWW.

OH GROSS!!!! and my question is: how come the people using the mats can't smell it?? it's foam. it's kinda absorbent over time esp. you'll be able to smell ALOT of thingies! UGH.

It would not just be the mats - the same thoughts would apply to any public property you are in contact with .... so don't let the imagination go wild ; )

So true when they say ignorance is bliss!

Your office is quite "advance", doing pilates, while most, like ours, still at kickboxing. Dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but pilates sure sounds more "fashionable" than kickboxing!
