The man just had to try his hand at the ramen salad. Not too bad! The salad dressing was the key. He used mainly shabu-shabu sauce for it.
There was the usual thick as gravy mushroom soup. We had hearty Irish beef stew (with copious amounts of Guinness!) and browned-butter mash.
The whole point to dinner was to gather and watch John Mayer: Live in Los Angeles on blu-ray. I like John Mayer's music. But watching this dvd just blew me away. Him accoustic; him as the Trio; him with the band. The boys drooled over the guitars and how the thumb-over neck (very Hendrix) technique formed the base of John Mayer's techniques. I was totally enthralled with his huge charisma and stage presence. It's like, wow. When I grow up, I wanna date a rock star.
John Mayer's sounds might be pop-ish. But he's a blues man at heart. If he's coming for Mosaic next year, I'm waking up at 9am to grab front row tickets man. (The last time I woke up at 9am just to grab front row tickets was for DCFC 12 August okay!)
For dessert, the friends brought over a basketful of awfully sweet momo peaches. So so juicy. Drool. Over fruit, music and man.
