Driving

In this trusty new steed, we have driven to the southern tip of the island for the spectacular sunset. We've traversed the length of its hilly terrain to the waterfalls.

Armed with wi-fi and the guidebooks, we've drawn across the breadth for the best and most obscure eats tucked away in every nook and cranny of the narrow sois. With its touts and the likes, Phuket can be quite a turn-off. But if you can find the gems, it's still worth it.

It's lovely to be mobile. It's pretty easy to drive in Phuket. Instinctive too. Except that the man didn't think the car gave enough power to thrill. But it did get us up a 45-degree incline. Each time I'm here, there's something new to discover beyond the sleaze of Patong and the luxury of our hotel suites.

Phuket never fails to surprise us. One of our favourite haunts when we were still living within a 3 hour travel-radius.

Wow, such a nice car you've got. We always go for those "pokang" jeeps. Now you remind me of how we got our wheels "clamped" in Phuket. It's hilarious to recall that now.
