Happy Containers
The man's bestie is totally his intellectual equal. Wait, actually, she is smarter. There're few things in the world that the man wouldn't do for her.
I truly enjoy her wit and company over msn, chats and meals. She is such a great girl. Along with her husband and his gems of wisdom, I totally love the hilarious moments we share over Trivia Pursuit and late night Charades.
Besides dinners at our flat, we also want to pack her food for her other meals. The man dilligently trawls the net and (now) cooking bible for recipes, scours the supermarket for organic ingredients to go into her food and do plenty of taste tests to make the food will be to her liking.
Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to deep freeze dhaal and DHL it over to the States for her. So the man and I are relegated to cooking fresh food for her when she's back in town. This round, I think he has cooked her loads to last for the week. Heeeee.
While we had our dinner, the containers were filled up with pumpkin dhaal, mushroom soup and basmati and left to cool.
By now, the containers are all packed and ready to go. We're going to hop into the car and swing over to her place in a bit.

lucky gal! :)
Awwww - I love you guys - and yes he is smarter.
mistipurple: we are the lucky ones- she bakes and feeds us.
anon@10.50pm: MUAKS. no he is NOT smarter.
Can you pack the dhaal in some vacuumed bag? My folks buys food when they travel in the PRC and bring home like that. It can keep for days.
But another question is can you DHL cooked food?
IS :P
Haha.. What a cute and lovely relationship he shares with his bestie! :) I felt so touched reading about you guys packing food for her every dinner(and I don't know why I feel this way when I'm not even the one receiving!). Hehehe..
Lucky bestie.
Now my stomach is growling after reading ALL your recent posts on FOOD.
This is what I call FRIENDS!! =)
You guys are so sweet!
Sorry totally out of topic here, but I'm craving for whipped potato these few days! I know you're the best person to ask hehe. Where can I get a nice whipped potato (not mash but whipped) with gravy and all? I'm desperate! 7-11 seems like a real good deal.
ice: 7-11 will suffice for a quick fix. but it doesn't feels like real mash. heee. mash at Oso and 789 get my vote.
kikare: nope. it's gotta be sealed in a tub. like properly sealed, not masking tape sealed. can. DHL can do anything. hehehe. i love using them. it's upon arrival at Customs that i might have a problem with it being quartered.
dawn: is NOT.
jomel: because u cook so well and u understand the joy of homecooked food!
kachunknorge: heeeeee.
huier: sometimes, yes!
wanted to say, it's hard to find friends who would pack you lunches and dinners. mostly it happens with moms and kiddos only, or at most, wives for their hubs. so this is rare, and treasured.
mistipurple: in our circle, we do. we've many friends who pack us our favorite things- from cakes, pies and cookies to pasta, soups and salads. :)
