Awesome Shoes

We were all getting ready to go out. The adults' shoes were the easiest to slip on, so Bubbles would always be the first to be all dressed and ready, shoes included. The little girl picked out her shoes for the day. She showed me a pair of fancy glittery silver sneakers and declared she wanted to wear them.

My goodness! I love them! I'd love to have an exact pair of Converse or Macbeth in my size! "Please wear for me, Aunty Imp." So I did, and halfway through, hollered for the mother to come help. It was a tight squeeze, and I didn't want to hurt the little girl. Best that the mother did it. In the blink of an eye, Corsage grabbed the little ankles and deftly slipped the shoes on.

Once worn, Bubbles proudly paraded around in the sneakers. I told Corsage. "What awesome shoes!" Behind me, a little voice belonging to the owner of the sneakers piped, "Awesome shoes." Alamak! I didn't realize she heard it. That was the phrase of the day.

(More about Bubbles' adorable lines here.)

hehehe I thought I was the only one who felt worried that way about squeezing tiny feet into shoes. I am always intrigued by how mums easily force the feet into the shoes in the blink of an eye.

Sounds like a fun day with the lil one :)

bookjunkie: new sneakers and hard backs, ugh. at least the worn ones are easier to do so!

cavalock: a good sort of busy for ya. :)

These are not shoes I would have chosen for her myself. I too prefer shoes that are more easily put on despite my apparent deftness! ;) But I must say I really do like how they LOOK!
