The woman knows my heart well. She has sourced the gift from Mother and Child Project, a social enterprise that supports made-in-Singapore products by mostly single mothers, retirees and women recovering from psychiatric illnesses. She got me a quirky necklace of silk rosettes in a cheerful color that is not black. My mainly-black/dark/blue/grey wardrobe certainly appreciates accessories in other colors.
I won't spend hours thinking of what to wear to certain events or something. It's very simple. I've a fairly formidable collection amassed. If an event requires me to acquire clothes or shoes that don't currently exist in my wardrobe, and needs me to mull over the merit of attending such it, chances are, I won't turn up, regardless.
Each time I get a delightful heartfelt gift like this handsewn necklace of silk rosettes, instinctively, I know just when to wear it, and with what. It doesn't take a lot of planning. It takes a minute of thinking, another minute of staring at the actual pieces of clothing, and another 2 minutes to pull them on.
The rosettes are soft, but sits nicely on the neck without going awry, like how heavier necklaces do. I like it very much. It isn't just a pretty accessory for chic coffee sessions or leisurely meals. I wore this to a rather solemn business meeting. A pitch, if you would. The necklace was a brilliant assistant that afternoon. So thank you, babe, for the wonderful gift that has proven its mettle in allowing me to keep on giving too.

That's a really pretty necklace. :)
I only had vision of it being paired with black. I like how you pair it with other colour instead. :)

Mother and Child has got 2 other designs. Take a look! Although the colors of the silk might differ depending on their stock.
