ลาก่อนและเห็นคุณอีกครั้งกรุงเทพฯ

The biggest reason why I bother to appear at breakfast, (not just because energy is needed for parkour) is for a chat with the friends who take the trouble to hop over because our hotel is the designated meeting point. While we can make random comments, jokes or whatever through the day, it's kinda nice sitting down to a long chat in the morning over slightly more serious conversation.

You've no idea how happy I was to see tofu for breakfast. As the long weekend draws to a close, the stomach's capacity for food suddenly shrunk. Too.much.food. I shuddered when the tinkle on the phone merrily put out the reminder of the next flight out to another city of good food. Tofu was good. Very light, almost bland, and simply gorgeous.

It's been such a peachy weekend. Grateful for the friendships that have developed through the years. It's just life, I guess. 90% of the friends I made in primary and secondary school, and even at university(ies) don't stay friends. We grow, and we change too much to bother maintaining any semblance of genuine relationships. I found my lifelong friends through diving, sharing of alcohol (interpret this in any way you choose to), work, serendipity and random chance meetings. Of course, as we get older, we rarely bother to make new friends simply because it takes too much effort. Our ways are more set in stone, we're more inflexible and intolerant to another's dietary preferences, lifestyle, travel habits, etc. So I'm always glad that with these friends, we don't accommodate and swallow our pride or whatever. We grow and accept one another's idiosyncracies. SOMETIMES. Awesome.
