Very nice to be welcomed home with a dense, unsweetened easy orange cake for tea at the girlfriend's. When A and I got there, the cake was in the final stage of baking in the oven. There was just a faint fragrance in the kitchen, not the unbaked/baking butter smells which would make me puke.
Coffee for the afternoon, and tiny slabs of cakes for us. The girlfriend had been exhausted from a ton of deadlines at work, and third trimester pregnancy. Yeah, sure, there's whatsapp and email. But nothing beats regular meetings. We've missed that very much! We were glad to see her energy levels back up and in her usual cheerful self. So we didn't feel too guilty about making her bake for us. Ooof.
Her little girl was fast asleep. There would be plenty of playtime later. But for now, our attention is on our dear friend, to catch up and chat. A's been away for months, and I've been mostly MIA on the little jaunts out of town. There're very few people I want to spend the whole day with. These two belong to that category of friends whom I could do random things with, and just go about the day per normal. We probably could nap in separate corners of the house too, if we were really that tired. Muahahahahah. Felt good to spend a long afternoon with the girls.

I don't share the same faith by birth (I'm kind of open to all), but I have to mention that I found the prayer calming and reassuring to read. I'm glad you added it. Hope you have a blessed Easter.
The orange cake is tempting me. I love everything citrus.
bookjunkie: A good weekend to you too!
Happy Easter Imp!
cavalock: and to you too. :)
