Friendly Faces

Before the guests arrived, I snucked glances at the laptops of the door hosts. Saw random names whenever they popped up on the screen, and grinned. Good to see the friends at a work event for some welcomed schmoozing and laughter.

Anyway, I had snatches of down-time of which were used to swing around to the friends' tables to say hello. They were hilarious. They tried to give me alcohol, of which I declined. Later. Later I'd have a glass of champagne towards the end of the night. Then they tried to sneak me food from their plates. That was rather appreciated. Muahahahaha. Especially at this one table where I knew everyone.

Heels were a must at this red carpet event. No choice about it. Mid evening, and the feet were killing me. By the end of the night, feet were blistered, and I was starving, obviously. The friends, were oddly hungry still. So we went off for some satisfying Teochew porridge up the road. Finally home, dozens of strokes in the cold pool alleviated angry blisters and aching muscles.
