Mother's Day Flowers

These commercial occasions can be quite annoying. Although the man and I don't splash out on it, we don't dare to imagine how it'll turn out if we don't even whisper a 'Happy Mother's Day' to Mommy, and simply let the day pass without a mention. Thankfully, we can choose to celebrate Mother's Day for Mommy ahead of time, and in our own way. Most Moms aren't complicated like that.

Went to the florist. But the usual people weren't there. New girl. I stood for quite a while to browse and consider their stocks. She suggested pinks, carnations and roses. Mommy doesn't like pinks and reds. She most certainly doesn't like carnations. They stink up the water in the vase so bad. I didn't want to get her the regular flowers that hang around all corners of the flat weekly.

We always buy flowers in bunches without frills. After all, those will go into vases at home. For a special buy, a bouquet would be nice. Ribbons. Ribbons make a happy image. I put together a bunch of wildflowers that could withstand the brutal heat for a bit. Something cheerful, something green, something fresh to wish her well for the day, and for her summer vacation.
