The Work Is Done!!!

So many shows. (Didn't even pee much.) It's madness at the Festival Tent sprinting between the reception, VIP lounge (where the cutest polar bear is!), runway and backstage. No way I'm wearing heels while at work. No idea how other girls do it; don't care to know and there isn't a desire to follow suit. My feet call the shots when it comes to what they want to wear.

Flats. Specifically the ballet flats from Tod's. They kept terrible blisters at bay. Their rubberized soles are a godsend. While I don't mind other labels, Tod's is the only brand that's truly gentle to my feet on days I need to run about and not sit for hours on end. These flats are kind to my bunions and easy on the ball of the feet and arch. Whewww. Thank goodness for the different colored flats to go around and match the outfit of the day. I don't quite like to wear the same shoes for consecutive days.

Then, there's the tiny matter of finding appropriate clothes to match ballet flats. I'm not tall. The wrong clothes will just make me look stunted. I concede that many outfits would be better paired with a pair of heels, but NO. Painful lah. Anyway, I never bother dressing up while at work. Black will do fine, thankyou, and nothing fancy. Not in the mood. I'm here to do a job, not to play and act all cute-sy. Can't bring myself to do colors, unless that's part of the job requirement.

Very glad that the work portion for the week is completed. Zipped off at the earliest opportunity to run home for a quick shower and a change of clothes, and ran back to the Tent for two evening shows. It's always different when I'm a guest. And yes, to put away the flats and wear heels, of course. I'd like to feel less short next to these tall skinny models (who eat McDs backstage). Excited about alldressedup's FW2012, and will probably give the 8pm Zac Posen a miss. The week has taken its toil, and honestly, I'm more inclined to join the man and the friends for a sit-down dinner than to schmooze and see poofy gowns that I won't appreciate.
