Homemade Granola Bars

The beauty of having many girlfriends who bake and cook, and who're willing to indulge me- a constant supply of ingredients for my meals. It's beautiful because I know precisely what goes into each item and eventually, my stomach. Very blessed this way.

Granola bars this round gifted by sweet Y. Shared some with the bff. At home, she bakes her own bread and granola bars too. So she loved Y's version of these bars! After a ginormous dinner the previous night, there was no way we could have a huge lunch next. The granola bars came in handy. We topped with figs and slices of Chinese pears, then a generous dollop of yoghurt. Mmmm. Makes for an awesome lunch.

Next up! A fig and rosemary spread for you! But first, show me where to get your kinda figs! I found some at Cold Storage but aren't sure if you like those!

Y: i get them at Tekka Mkt and Holland Village wet market's fruit stalls. Am sure other wet markets might have, say braddell-bishan area. But i don't know for sure. All black mission figs for fresh ones. Can fly in a carton of Calimryna if you need more... Calimyrna's should be eaten fresh though, quite a waste to bake it...

serious? you can get these type of figs from tekka / holland village? can double confirm or not? :P

those available in cold storage or NTUC are probably purple skin figs from turkey

yuling: i don't particularly care. i like most figs. those from cold storage are the brown turkey figs that are similar to black mission in look, but less sweet. or the Kadota. both are fine for baking. just remember don't eat too much- figs have a mild laxative effect.

FML: yes. the fruit stalls and either market stock them almost all year round since they import from both hemispheres. they usually have 2 varieties of figs, but not calimyrna.

i'm only interested in fresh calimyrna which is not commonly sold here. I think i could find dried calimyrna though.
