Oden For Supper

The girlfriend and I took the Aunts out to Shinji for dinner where we didn't get drunk on the two giant bottles of sake. Then we went for drinks at Orihara where the bar didn't seem to mind that we made a lot of noise. Completely full from dinner, we abandoned the seats to perch by the counter. Standing made our stuffed stomachs feel better.

The Aunts proceeded to order four bottles of sake, 720ml each. E and I were horrified. Not so much about the drinking, but on the delicate matter of how we would be able to drag the Aunts back to the hotel if they were comatose. I grimaced, shook my head, and paid utmost attention to my cup, watching my intake. As the night wore on, SOME PEOPLE got hungry again. We were delighted to know that oden was served even at the late hour. "Supper!" Continuous food would be a great idea. I like the oden here quite a bit. It's sufficient for a meal on days when I've no cravings, or in the nights when I'm a tad peckish. The broth here is beautiful.

"Don't worry, we aren't going to waste all that gorgeous sushi and sashimi in a puddle of puke." The Aunts reassured us. Right. Like that's a real promise. You know what? We escorted them back at 2.30am, both upright. They were awake the next morning at 9am, all bright and chirpy over the phone. They were at Nylon Coffee and raving about how good the espresso was. After taking the phonecall, I was really grouchy. Couldn't get back to dreamland, and had to drag myself into the shower. I had a pounding headache from a lack of sleep.
