2nd Singapore Art Book Fair

On a stormy afternoon, we spent two hours at the second Singapore Art Book Fair organized by BooksActually and Hjgher. Love the venue at Gillman Barracks' Centre of Contemporary Art. The Fair featured about 40 international and independent publishers, distributors and retailers. Had a wonderful time going around the stalls, lingering over the books, magazines, cards, knick knacks and all. Bought stuff, of course. Went prepared with an extra shopping bag.

Our last stop was at the space helmed by family art collective Holycrap.sg. It was whimsical and fun. Up on the walls were the children, Renn and Aira's art pieces. They were running around in identical Ramones tees. SO CUTE. Pann and Claire launched Issue 3 of their zine- 'RUBBISH FAMzine For Ever & A Day'.

When we left, rain was still pelting down. Didn't fancy strolling the short distance to the car in the rain. My shopping bag that held precious paper, was water-resistant, not water-proof. Hung out for a bit over drinks with the friends. There was a Hendricks bar which offered fresh carrot juice with their gin. Nice. I took a cup of strong coffee from Papa Palheta's cart. The friends were curious about South East Sliders, but were all too stuffed to squeeze down one.

Inside Holycrap.sg's cheerful little gallery space.
