The man is happiest when he gets spices in his meals, and he enjoys nothing than popping into his favorite Indian restaurants for thosai and such. This is like a ritual before he heads off on work trips where he can't get spicy food easily. Indian food is London is frankly delicious, but those prices are insane, and the queues at all three locations of the current hot favorite Dishoom ain't worth it.
Went to check out the new kid on the block in Little India- Samayal by 6ixers. It seems to be a family affair serving up South Indian dishes. The food and its sambar were pretty good, along with its giant slab of fish cutlet. Its fish curry, wasn't quite spicy enough. That mutton masala was impressive.
While the man keeps returning to Gandhi for his regular spice fix, I'm less keen on Gandhi, and prefer Kerala flavors when it comes to Indian food. It’s in how the spices are used, and not a matter of how chilli-spicy a dish is. I love chillies, but they don’t always bring out the flavors. Some of our friends think that Gandhi is too spicy! Hahahaha. We've all got our favorites!
