Stuck some cards onto the fridge. Grinned at one that the friends had sent to the man on his birthday— "Middle age is mostly getting super excited about different flavors of hummus." SO TRUE.
We love hummus but we rarely buy it at the stores. We usually make our own hummus. It's easy when chickpeas are plentiful in the markets; after a soak overnight, the blender and the strainer do most of the work. The man likes making it, so I decided to let him do it. Ha! Now that he's found the perfect brand of tahini from Soom Foods and tweaked a recipe to a flavor that he likes, he has been churning out fairly dependable versions.
Hummus is my all-day favorite food. If I need breakfast, hummus is probably one of the foods I don't mind. Whatever food needs to be cold and low in carbs. The stomach doesn't do well with heavy hot oily breakfasts.
A heavy dinner was expected the other night. So we went easy for the day's meals. Whipped up hummus for brunch. Sprinkled the usual pink salt, paprika, and olive oil into the mix. It was accompanied by cold crunchy sweet bell peppers. That's what I prefer to eat it with. Peppers or vegetable sticks. For something heavier, pita bread or crackers would work.

Interesting and not-so-common brekkie! (In Singapore, at least...) Do share more on the other types of meals you eat? :)
