Pu3 Restaurant has left its Bencoolen venue and is now located at the newly refurbished TripleOne Somerset. Its calling card would be the nasi ambeng. They do sell individual dishes nasi padang style, and you could fill a smaller but equally satisfying plate with those.
The flavors and all are still familiar. To be honest, their food isn't the best, but its spices are definitely a welcome addition to the food choices available in town. Be prepared for a wait when you get there. Somehow, through the years, it has never been fast. Between doing takeaways and whatever, we tend to wait an average of 30 minutes each time we get there. Zzzzzz. Even waiting for our orders to be taken can take up to 10 minutes.
We haven't managed to veer away from its sharing plate of nasi ambeng. Bean sprouts, sambal goreng, sambal belado terong, chicken curry, beef rendang, serundeng, paru, and whatever special of the day make up the huge plate. Its weakest dish is its chicken curry. Odd huh? I thought chicken is a fail-safe ingredient. Each time I taste the chicken or the curry, it's thin and lame. The chicken is always a tad stinky. The chillies are okay, not that spicy, but decent enough. Its begedil has been surprisingly not too salty, but nicely mashed. I really didn't mind its paru which is sliced thick, but cooked tender. The beef rendang has remained consistent- sufficiently flavorful and tender.

Thank you, dear for bringing this to my radar again... and at such a much more convenient venue! The curry does look thin even from pic... shall ask them if we can change it to something else ;)
I keep appearing at peak hour when they’re super packed, so I haven’t dared to ask them to replace the chicken curry with another meat. Heh. Next time I shall try that.
Hope you don’t have to wait for too long when you go!
