Supplies Are Full

I pretty much shop for many things online, fruits, fish, meats, and such. During this period, getting a supply of fresh foods isn't too much of a pain. The supply lines are steady, and the stores (online and at the wet market) don't have too many problems with their usual stocks of fresh foods. Even during this crazy period of national stocking up and buying, delivery slots from online grocers are highly sought after, but still do-able. Next-day deliveries can be dicey. But if you can wait for five days from point of purchase, you'll have plenty of food incoming.

It's the supermarket apps that're tough to get in slots. The entire country is on them, and getting a delivery slot is like hitting the jackpot. During these two months, it's crazy how items get out of stock so fast, and how difficult it is to schedule deliveries. #FirstWorldProblems ROARRRR. You would have to get your cart ready and see diligently pop in every other hour to see if you can check out with a confirmed delivery slot. On these sites, I mostly buy household cleaning products, non-perishables, and some spices, pasta and rice. And toilet paper.

I'll never understand why people rush to stock up on toilet paper. It's not just in Singapore. It's the whole world. Apparently Singaporeans use five rolls of toilet paper on the monthly average. As long as I have 20 rolls in stock at any time, I'm good. Needed items for myself and the man's parents. Camped out on the supermarket apps, and over four days, I scheduled eight deliveries from PrimeNow, Redmart, FairPrice, and Cold Storage. SCORE! ✌🏻

Our alcohol cabinet is fully stocked. Plenty of whisky, gin and wine. Cans and bottles of soda and tonic water have arrived too. Thailand has imposed alcohol restrictions for ten days in a bid to control gatherings and limit the spread of COVID-19 among the population. Our bars and pubs are closed, but we can still get alcohol easily. We certainly don't drink till we're drunk, but alcohol certainly helps to ease some days. Even if we don’t drink that much anymore, a glass or two is always welcomed.

It's beer that we don't stock much of. No more fridge space lah. We usually have 12 cans of beer at any one time. Now, we have to keep 48 cans. Orion, Kona Big Wave and Asahi Super Dry came with our food deliveries. Small cute six-packs. We also ordered beer from Brewerkz. We just picked up a case of pilsner from Brewerkz. 24 cans. We can't see people, and people can't visit. With this amount of beer in the larder, and the fridge holding eight cans at any one time, we're sorted for the month.
