Awesome WagWellies™ For Choya!

The dog needs to pee at least twice a day, outdoors on grass. Rain or shine, we go out. It has been raining loads. This is Singapore, heavy rains expected all the time, and with Murphy, it always happens when the dog needs to go pee. I can carry a brolly, but that means my dog is still drenched. To make our lives easier,  I've got her rain gear- a raincoat and booties.

The dog has got a decent raincoat from Cloud7 that opens up at the D-ring of the harness for the leash, and with a belly cover. Most raincoats only open at the collar. We don't walk her on leash by the collar. It's so very hard to find a nicely designed raincoat that opens up at the harness ring, and one which meets all requirements, so we're sticking to this current Cloud7 for a bit. Raincoats are great so that she doesn't get too soaked. Her double-coat means that water would run off if we don't go out in too heavy storms. We could simply towel her dry instead of showering her and running the hair dryer through.

She needs to wear boots on days when her paws have been licked raw. Our urban streets aren't clean, and I'd rather her not get an infection if there're raw bits. Boots are necessary on rainy days when she wants to run in the field and mud. After trying out different brands and materials of booties, I finally found a decent set in WagWellies™ from wagwear, brought in by vanillapup

The velcro straps are extra long and goes round double. Great. The slits in the WagWellies™ are brilliant- they allow us to wear the boots easily, and cater for the movement of the paws while walking or running through water and muddy fields. The WagWellies™ STAY ON. Wow. That's a coup. The dog has managed to kick off all her booties from Ruffwear, Qumy, all those anti-slip socks, and those stupid hard-af-to-wear balloons from Pawzs. I was quite sian of buying booties only to discover how lousy they are. But I still had to try because, she's a paw-licker. I"m really happy to have found WagWellies™. They're such a lifesaver.

It has been a crazy week of rain like we're back in monsoon season. We've taken the WagWellies™ out for many times now. They've stayed on through our walks in light and heavy rains. The rubber boots are easy to clean. I love them. The dog doesn't seem to mind them either. She walks and runs fine in them. No issues with peeing in them either. Haven't tried pooping. Obviously she hasn't seen the need to poop in rain just yet.  She doesn't like pooping in rain unless she has no choice, and the poop is determined to be let out. Hahaha.
