I keep coming to Kazu at lunch. Somehow, it's never quite a dinner place for me. The menu offers really decent lunch sets that are quite conservative, and definitely dependable. Chef Ichiyama Kazuhiro was at the sushi counter and served us lunch today. He works hard and rarely takes a day off. Glad to see him doing all right since the restaurant opened two years ago.
A chirashi-don in varying combinations of fish was in order for us. S and I were greedy and shared a deliciously grilled yellowtail collar. Mmmm. T wasn't in the mood for more fish, and asked for sukiyaki beef and chicken karaage. Done. Third culture kids are generally the easiest to feed- their tastebuds would be a lot more adventurous than usual, and often, more forgiving. With parents who love Japan and take them along traveling often, these teenagers are at ease with odd Asian food combinations, raw fish and such. For growing boys who're athletes, they eat VERY LITTLE CARBS. Tsk tsk. Hahahahah.
