We didn't intend to mark Saint Patrick's Day since it's none of our business, but we ended up seeing friends and having a pint of Guinness at the bar anyway. It was quite a fun night!
Took Choya out for her evening walk at Tanjong Pagar. We didn't have plans for dinner, and thought we'd just get a takeout. As it so happened, the friends texted to say that they were in the area and they had an outdoor table, and Choya could come too. So we decided to join the friends. Made a dinner pit-stop at Xiao Ya Tou, which welcomes dogs outdoors. There were 10 seats outside. One long table and one small table. We occupied the long table that could seat eight persons. We were six humans altogether that night.
To be honest, the five-foot-way isn't the most comfortable for the dogs, but Choya is small, and that night which isn't a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, it wasn't that crowded. The area wasn't littered with cigarette butts or grease from the food, so it was okay. The dog managed fine. We would just have to tahan the hurricane of overhead fans blowing heavy on our heads. Also, the restaurant turned up the music to an uncomfortable level at 9pm, and those speakers were blasting right at our heads too. Luckily we left shortly after, so it wasn't too unbearable.
The man was most curious because he had heard loads about the place but didn't have a chance to try its fusion Chinese food. The table ordered loads of food to share. Food was pretty decent! The sambal belachan was fabulous. I had to have the stir-fried celtuce! I was just so surprised that they had it on the menu — celtuce stir-fried with smoked duck, wood fungus, and dried chillies. Ahhh lovely.
