Max Push at Ritual

Now that I've been to a few Ritual classes, I understand their concept, and how hard I can push myself. Or not. Hahaha. Oddly, this lazy me have been pushing hard so far, to fatigue in each set. Even I am impressed by how hardworking I have been. Hurhurhur. Well, I only have 20 minutes for 4 sets, and I might as well make full use of the time to justify the effort.

The movements are not tough. The sets are those that you can do at home on your own if you're disciplined and motivated enough. I could do it for a few months using Aaptiv, but I can't sustain it. Ooof. A small flat without a dedicated gym area isn't conducive for me. So Ritual does it for me at the right pricing, timing and with the right content. The three levels of difficulty in the sets allows me to choose what I want to do on any given day, depending on how I feel.

The press-up, or push-up is one of my favorite strength-building movements. The endless variations always work the core, and also work different muscles in the chest and arms. The challenge is to complete max reps with perfect form. That’s how I build strength without using additional equipment.

At each class, the instructors keep reminding us to tuck our arms in. I always forget. I realized that Ritual’s push-ups meant ‘tricep push-ups’. OMG. Those are painful. My triceps aren’t the strongest. I tend to avoid tricep press-ups, preferring to do divebomber or dips. In Ritual’s set time of 25 seconds for tricep press-ups, I could only do eight reps! Sad. I need to at least do ten!

I have to hit all my cardio goals. I signed up for this, so I shouldn't waste it. A short class in a venue near home is perfect. In the three hours I'm out of the house, I get to fix other appointments after class, fulfill them, and I go home to the dog (within the psychological time frame I'm comfortable leaving her alone)
