Kate is 12!

[O'maJ has rebranded to Tomahawk on 1 May, 2021.]

We were invited to celebrate Kate the Scottish Fold's birthday at O'maJ. Awwww. Kate is 12. Her pawrents took her for a medical check-up, and the lab returned an all-clear report. Very nice. When we have senior furries, we're thankful for good weeks, each month, and every year.

Choya gets along with Kate just fine. That's mostly because Kate is the most chill cat in the world. She's so sweet and permits any human to touch her gently and give head rubs. Choya senses and feels Kate's vibes, and behaves according. I don't know if Choya knows Kate is older than her, but she most certainly accords her the respect that she gives to most senior furries, unless they're super ill-behaved... Many senior furries are rather mellow, really.

Dinner at O'maJ was really for the humans. Hahahaha. It wasn't as if the furries could eat anything off the menu. But we could catch leisurely and not worry about the furries at all since they were by our side. Choya never bothers to sit on chairs or couches. So Kate happily laid there and stuck out her head once in a bit to see what was going on. We also picked a 6.15pm dinner timing so that we could have a quieter time before the main dinner crowd came in.

The restaurant tweaked the menu a little. Old favorites remain, and some new items popped up. The table didn't go crazy ordering too much food. We ordered enough to share. Skipped the big tomahawks and opted for smaller cuts of a tri-tip and a hanger. They came with a fun savory peanut butter sauce at the side. I wanted the steak tartare but it was already sold out. Ah well.

We had cakes too! Kate's pawrents bought two slices of cakes from Keong Saik Bakery. There was a burnt cheesecake that Kate could have bits of, and a 'Seashore' for the man, which was an Earl Grey and butterfly pea cheesecake. I almost wanted to give Choya a lick, but decided naaaah. She has had too much dairy this week.

Since the night was still young and our furries were fine, we adjourned to the friends' house to say hello to their other two cats. Not for more drinks. Choya likes the black cat Sabbath, although Sabbath is just a tad wary of her. Kittysak is a tiny fierce monster who has never met a dog, and is scared of Choya. Wahahahah. By now, Choya has earned the right to be unleashed in their home with the cats. Although we watch them like a hawk, and Choya retains the harness because that would remind her to mind her manners.
