Baked Prata & Chicken Curry

We wanted to try baked prata from Hong Lim Market & Food Center. The stall's name is such a hoot — 'Midas Every Touch Is Gold'! Okay lah, the name is Midas, but hey, it printed its corny tagline on the shopfront. The stall has been around for a few years, moving from Yishun Hawker Center to its current Chinatown address. N happily volunteered to get some food from this stall.

We forgot that one should never send N to get dinner. She bought the whole stall, and still went to a second location to buy more stuff. I had such a cackle when I saw the dining table. It was chockfull of dishes. Four stomachs. HOW TO FINISH! We ended up having loads of food to tapau home, which fed us for the next two meals.

We had bought the stall's famous baked prata (no oil used) and chicken curry. N got those, plus three big tubs of chicken curry, and decided to add on four portions of baked butter garam masala chicken thighs that came with rice and fried eggs. OMG. Midas's chicken curry belongs to the thick kind, and very flavorful and tasty. I didn't expect a Chinese stall to churn out such a curry (yah, stereotypes I know).

As if these foods weren't enough, N randomly stopped by Samy's Curry on her way way. She really only wanted the chicken liver masala, but she was greedy and added on plenty of other things. LOLOLOL. Vegetable biryani, mutton masala, dhal, potatoes and fish curry. WIN. Glad that in this lockdown-not-lockdown 'CB-Lite', we could still visit households two-by-two. N and S are within the regular circle of humans we see, so we have no qualms checking in with them.

The dog happily trotted along to visit the resident cat, Chewie. I also packed along the dog's dinner. I wasn't sure if she would eat (she's in a mood this week), but I would offer. Surprisingly, she ate, leaving just a teeny bit behind to be kept in the fridge and then taken home for her supper. Chewie is still suspicious of Choya, but at least she has stopped hissing. We humans shall take it slow with getting them acquainted then. Choya isn't bothered by a cat's presence, but Chewie might be a bit stressed. Oops.
