Arranged for a casual dinner date with M and her parents at GRUB at Stevens Road. The man and I know M's parents for years now, but we haven't had a chance to sit down properly with the parents for a chat all year. Seized a date and made full use of the evening.
Food at GRUB is always decent. We like this Stevens Road location very much. It's breezy and spacious. We're here a lot more often than when it was at Bishan Park, and we wouldn't be popping by the Junction 8 outlet much. Lots of sharing plates, and I didn't share my pesto spaghetti. I portioned out the grilled chicken thigh to everyone else and lapped up all the carbs. There was beer and wine. The man stuck to no carbs for the meal, and gave the quota all to a beer. Haha.
We asked after the parents' health, and we were all mildly stunned to realize that they exercise more than we do in a monthly average. They do something every day, be it a swim, a jog or a stretching session. They take it easy of course, to be kinder to the bones, joints and heart. But they get their cardio to maintain the metabolism and valves pumping. There isn't a rest day. While they're not training for any bi-athlons or competition, they're seriously fit. For a 5km sprint, they're likely to out-run ME.
This Choya. Went straight up and curled up at Aunty S's feet. She was sooooo tickled. Choya showed no favors to anyone else but Aunty S for the whole night. She didn't even bother about us, her pawrents. Hurhurhur. Aunty S was sooooo tickled to see that. It was the loveliest evening.
