Oysters!

When the man finally emerged from a loooong day of meetings, he had a craving for oysters. We went to Humpback. We didn't have a reservation. But there were outdoor tables available. It was a cool night after the rains; we were really comfortable seated at this sheltered corner table under a fan.

There were three options for oysters tonight. From British Columbia, we had Fanny Bay and Sun Seeker, and Coromandel from North Island in New Zealand. However, we've missed happy hour for $3 per oyster; we had to contend with $7 per oyster. All right then. The man was still pleased. This batch was good. My vote tonight went to the Sun Seeker.

Decided to have fish as the main protein for the night. The kitchen ran out of the 600g Dover sole I wanted. Had to settle for a bigger portion at 800g. I was hungry and could eat. However, this meant that we couldn't order any starters. The Dover sole came beautifully grilled in seaweed vinaigrette. The man decimated the head. It was super tasty. What a treat! We had stomach space to share a portion of pasta — a spicy rigatoni with stracciatella, roasted tomatoes and basil. A bottle of prosecco and a lobster Bloody Mary complemented the food perfectly.
