A Steak and Two Types of Dessert

I hadn't sat down for a meal with the BFF in maybe three months. The last time I ate at the coffeeshop near her house two weeks ago, I made her come downstairs for a 30-minute (non-alcoholic) drink. So I grabbed her out for dinner at Volare. The husband and the dog came along too.

I like the pici cacio e pepe and find it very hard to move away from that. Volare does a very good version. The man simply likes ordering pizza, and I simply avoid eating it. Hahaha. Pizza can be packed to-go anyway. Luckily for him, the BFF likes pizza. They skipped the pasta and shared two pizzas — a spicy pork sausage, and with grilled vegetables. What I like about this menu is, they offer a number of white base pizzas, what I prefer! Those are great!

Had two bottles of Prosecco, starters of fried sardines, oven-roasted veal bone marrow and got a 1.1 kg Black Angus Fiorentina bone-in steak, of which is done medium-rare by default. The man takes his meat medium-rare, and the BFF takes it medium. The compromise here is wonderful — they trot out a hot stone for you to cook it to medium. BEST. Opted for sides of mushrooms and grilled vegetables

These people went for broke and ordered two types of dessert! Madness! There were a tiramisu and a lava chocofall over vanilla bean gelato. Yup. They're dessert people. They finished it. Whatever happened to eating less? Tonight was a pig-out for these two. I stayed within my happy-carbs quota.
