The man is extremely indulgent of Ryo. He calls him 'Ryo-buddy'. Okaaaaay. I'm a little more strict. I refuse to indulge that Silly Boy. Whatever. The man is now more well-versed in walking timid Ryo who's fearful of the outdoors. He knows how to loosen and tighten the leash according to situations and Ryo's reactions. That's great. I'm pleased to be training both human and dog. NOT!
Ryo has mild fear aggression. It takes a lot of supervision for him to meet other dogs. We still do so if the vibes are right, and are grateful for calm dogs and their steady/unfazed owners. Ryo is still afraid of the outdoors, motorcycles and crowds. We work on that. We find corners and safe spaces. If we head to quiet parks, we'll hang out at 'noisier' cafes/restaurants to socialize him, then we retreat home for him to decompress. He's learning, finally starting on Place training, and is doing so much better.
Ryo and Choya still get along well together. They give each other tons of space at home, don't infringe upon the other's nap times or sleeping areas, and co-exist perfectly well together. But they will have play time(s), say after dinner or in the middle of the night. So silly! Fangs snapping, butt-slapping and jumping. All in the name of play. Hahahaha.
I can easily care for another Shiba-ken with the fussiest habits — I just need to like that Shiba-ken, and he/she needs to be able to get along with Choya. And said Shiba-ken must acknowledge me as alpha and allow handling. Otherwise, it's impossible to clean him, grind his nails or brush his teeth. It's just a matter of whether their owners are reasonable in terms of expectations of care. I'm sooo friggin persnickety (but no unreasonable) when it comes to Choya and her care that I don't think anyone can beat me that way. LOL
