Wine with Smol Girl

After the weekends of tornado that is Ryo, I was mentally drained. He's happiest at home, but a dog needs exercise, fresh air and supervised socialization to this urban city that we live in.

I wouldn't say he is a difficult dog, but when I'm making behavioral tweaks, only I know what I'm doing — Ryo doesn't know what I want till a few sessions later. At this point, watching Ryo is almost as challenging as finishing up a piece of work with a 55-hour turnaround deadline.

Now that I'm done with the boy for a while, I wanted some quiet time and downtime with my Smol Girl. Sure, Smol Girl is mine and I see her all day. But a few weeks of handling Ryo reminds me even more of how gorgeous and quiet this Smol Girl is. Our strict training during her early years and all my tears have totally paid off.

Happiness is taking the Smol Girl out with me on a week day evening to sit at a restaurant at bustling Telok Ayer Street with a glass of wine, and knowing that she's okay with the crowds and comfortable chilling out near me. I'm literally Choya's emotional support human. So if I'm around, everything is all right in the world.

Yup, a whole bottle of wine was necessary. I was going to sit there for the whole evening. Heh. Okay lah, for two hours. I was alone, and wanted to be alone. I had the phone for company. An easy bottle of red is always nice. I didn't need much food. The restaurant offered pork chops on the menu. Those worked great!

Smol Girl was quiet and unobtrusive. She doesn't like to sit on chairs at all, she very much prefer the floor. As twilight gave way to darkness, nobody even knew Smol Girl was quietly chilling under the table, propped along the table legs. She wasn't uncomfortable. She shifted around and found comfortable positions under the table through the evening to watch the world go by.
