D and N sent over a gift bag! It was a bag of edibles! There was a box of SOMA chocolates, and they also gave us a bottle of home-churned basil sorrel pesto from the herbs in their vertical garden. Shoved them all immediately into the chiller.
There were eight different sweets and chocolates in the SOMA box. I loved that Seville orange slice dipped in dark chocolate. The little cats are so cute. I kept all the gingerbread cats for myself. Hurhurhur. Ate them bit by bit. The man liked the chocolate sticks, or 'barks', as SOMA terms it. When friends popped by for a bit that afternoon, I decided not to give them Nespresso capsules; gave them coffee from the Black Sugar drip bags. So I placed nibbles of roasted pistachios coated in lemon white chocolate to accompany the coffee.
I resisted making a pot of pasta and layer pesto over it. I always devour pesto like that. I could do it with this jar too, but this round, I preferred to eat the pesto as is. It's so clean and beautifully balanced. I want to savor all of it, spoon by spoonful. The sorrel added loads of flavors to the pesto. Mmmm.
I ate spoonfuls of pesto with plain pretzels, and charcoal and cheese crackers. Superbly satisfying. The man prefers to have his pesto with savory meals. He dished dollops atop pizzas and sausage rolls. Heh. Pesto so delicious. 💚
