Celebrated M's birthday at Kotuwa. It was their first visit to New Bahru, and to the restaurant at its new location. So they totally were up for a stroll about town on a quieter week day. Plus I told them that there's a CS Fresh right there for them to do a spot of grocery shopping after since they needed supplies.
We had no interest in the crabs, so we stuck to the set menu, and now the staff and kitchen know us, a complimentary portion of yellow dal appeared with the meal. LOL All these people who eat here like dal, and they love the restaurant's iteration.
The hoppers were always something to look forward to. Appam, idly and such. Bring them on! We would always order extra hoppers; the kitchen might have rolled eyes each time because it takes some actual effort to cook it and one has to eyeball it properly. :P The restaurant is always packed out, and hoppers take some time to do.
This was the third night I ate at Kotuwa over 8 days. LOL Well, I really like the food and spices, so why not. At least the drinks are not priced unreasonably. And with spicy food done this way, a refreshing glass of gin and tonic is the way to go. So that is my default drink here.
