Ryo Turned 5

The silly Ryo turned 5 years old. Time truly flies. Was it just during the pandemic lockdowns that we were introduced to this silly puppy. He has come to trust us and be comfortable at home with us on staycations.

He spent his birthday at happy play in school. I'm not even sure if I could call them his (school)mates because outside of the school environment, meeting the same dogs, he would revert back to his usual snarl and snap. Or lunge. That's really very hard to train him out of. But at least he doesn't actively seek out dogs to snarl at. He does walk by them calmly. He just doesn't want them to approach. He has a safe distancing radius of 1.8m. Stay outside of that, and all dogs would be fine. Go any nearer, be prepared to be bitten.

At least he does get along fine with Choya. Any squabbling is reduced to air snaps. And when I choose to step between them, all snarling and borking would stop, and they would each take a corner, and sulk. LOL But they can now be left alone together at home, be it at Ryo's or at ours.

Sent Ryo's pawrents champagne and Burgundy whites to congratulate them for surviving 5 years of Shiba-quirks (and tantrums). We went out for dinner with Ryo's pawrents to celebrate his birthday, without the floofs. Teeheehhehe. They are our friends after all! Left Ryo and Choya at home together. We'd have dessert with them at home later.
