An Easy Bottle of White

We shared all our food and didn’t overdo at CarnabyBeer battered fish and chips, and a side of charred Brussels sprouts tonight. We like this version of fish and chips which doesn’t hold that greasy stink. Many people compared it anoth3r British-branded fish and chips bistro at Balmoral Plaza, but we prefer Carnaby’s version. I avoided the mushy peas altogether. Heh.

S didn’t mind one more meat item. I wondered at the wisdom of ordering pork belly. Luckily it came in a small slab and it wasn’t overly salted. I grinned. Okaaay, I hadn’t had siew yoke for weeks, with the exception of that pork jowl a few nights ago. A few bites of this seared twice-cooked Dingley Dell pork belly tonight was fine. The rutabga was nicely caramelized, and cauliflower mash was delicious.

A bottle of easy white complemented the food. Since S didn’t drive, I slyly had her drink more of the bottle. Hahaha. I don’t see S that often, but we try to have dinner with each other at least every quarter. We’re off to a good start this year! Hehh. We might even make it to five dinners. Ooof.

The light drizzle that accompanied us making our to Robertson Quay didn’t turn heavier and kept the evening cool. It stopped by the end of dinner and made for a comfortable stroll to get our rides. The Smol Girl had some fun bounding along, and made a poop after deciding she ought to poop this once for the day.
